Flint Hills Ride 2/18/2017

OK, I'm making this a date.
Meeting place:  BP Gas Station in Council Grove, KS
Time:  10:00 am tentative - need feedback
Route: TBD -  I have never ridden in the Council Grove area so I'm relying on others for suggestions.


Possible riders so far:
Derek Smith, Marc Browning, Pilot98, kratos1, Cliff2up, Jolly Roger.  Add others you know of.

kratos1, I had suggested we meet in Topeka but then I realized you may want to take a different route.  Please do whatever works best for you.

Mark Cole (pilot) and will be there. 10 will work, earlier will work too, if need be. I don't have a lot of riding by council grove.

Should have responded sooner but either way works for me.  Would be a little easier to meet in Council Grove but if you want to meet in Topeka and ride down I am up for that.  Only takes an hour to get to Topeka and the trip to Council Grove is likely more fun then taking 56.

Have one thing to do Saturday morning and looks like it's going to be better to meet in Council Grove.

I have a birthday party to go to at 5, here in wichita, so I'll have to pass on this one, fellas.  Take lots of pics!  CG is an awesome area to rip around in!

I am in Emporia and would really like to make this. I spent my High School years just south of Council Grove west of Americus on Kahola creek which drains from Kahola lake. I know the area south of there but never have been able to get up to Council Grove and north yet. I know there are some great roads around Kahola that are so much mud/clay/snot most of the year....they should be good now though...
I don't know if Glenn K or Greg Mitchel have made the jump to this board yet, but they both know the area well and are also here in Emporia. I am looking for some old PM's  and phone numbers....

I hope to make it, the weather looks awesome with light winds too, morning will be a bit chilly for my fair weather hide, but....I sure hope to make it. Not been to Council Grove in almost 40 years but I know it should be hard to get lost.

Glen and Greg have both made the migration and hopefully will see this thread.. You could PM them on here!

I am 99% sure that I will make this ride. I have some old tracks up thru Wabaunsee county that I can load onto my GPS and would be glad to lead the group if you would like me to. If someone has a different plan I'm good with that also.
