2/18 Flint Hills Ride

Woke up to 37º temps this morning    but that is no hill for a buncha steppers, right?  The day warmed almost 40º and had everyone shedding clothes.


Eight riders showed up in Council Grove:
Glen Krause
Greg Mitchell
Scott Smith
Clifford (sorry Cliff2Up I couldn't read the last name)
Mark Cole
Marc Browning
Brandon Annan (hope I got that right)


Glen K served as ride leader and took us on an amazing ride that wound up northwest of Alma then back down south and west  to Hiway 56 east of Council Grove.  I bugged out when we crossed Skyline Drive and missed the last 20-25 miles.  Glen took us on some awesome roads such as Little Eqypt, Bluebird, Panther, Black Bear, Hayfield, real Kansas names.


We had a great lunch at the Farmacy Restraunt in Alma and I hope everyone enjoyed the company as much as I did.   This was a group of fine gentlemen who made this old timer feel like he was among old friends.


I had such a good time, I took only one pic!  I didn't even realize it until I got home and started looking at my phone.  I know the others took some good shots and I hope they post them here.


Many thanks to Glen K for his leadership and many aplogies to Scott (in front of me) and Brandon (behind me) for my spastic riding.


This was my first group ride and I see why you folks love it so much.  Let's do it again sometime soon!

Awesome time and a great route, one I would like to do again. Good to have met you all. 313 miles round trip from Wichita, but well worth it.

No worries Roger was a pleasure to meet you and that is the way this group works and makes it great, no one gets left behind.

Those are some great pictures guys!! Looks like a fantastic ride! So glad you all got together and showed Roger Nixon why we do this and why his work to keep this forum alive is so important! Since this was his first group ride it was amazing to see some veterans come out and make a path, thanks Glen for coordinating such a great ride for the lucky few, and I'm sure Greg had some new ears to amaze with some of his great stories... You guys ROCK!!!!

Can you believe that just because Greg was along...we actually found MUD!!!! Never been on a ride with Greg where mud was not involved.

He does indeed as does Glenn and I have been most blessed to ride with them.

Your welcome and thanks for sharing your pix! If you have any trouble posting pix on here just ask, our goal is to make sure it's simple for everyone to share the rides and enjoy the visuals as well... When you add a picture, after it's selected from your device, another option appears below it "more attachments", you hit that and it allows you to keep adding pictures... 😉

My only device is pretty old fashioned, a full blown gaming tower
I did find that "add more" however once I had all the files chosen, it said I needed permission and that is when the one file did actually post....

Hmm? Maybe Roger can address this one, I've never experienced an issue loading multiples, I'm sure we can sort it out, still working the kinks out of the new system, just notify us in the event of glitches and our crack team will do their best to sort it out... We don't like frustration around here!! Lol

I am certain it will work out, I was just getting tired having done the ride and editing and already uploading to other sites...no worries, I ain't goin down without kickin to get back up
