I will see everyone Saturday morning and plan to leave CG at 10:00. I attempted to download the route in the Download section, it still needs to be approved by a Mod. before you can view it though. It is about 90 miles in length and will end approximately 12 miles east of CG at Hwy 56 next to Northern Heights High school. We will split up there and head for home. There are very few places to eat along the way so we can try for lunch in Alma if anyone knows of a place there. Should be an awesome day to ride.

Great ride you've laid out for us!  I'll be riding old K-4 into Council Grove so I'll see part of the route coming in.
Alma has the Farmacy Restraurant and a Gambinos Pizza.  I haven't eaten at either so I couldn't tell you.
Thanks so much!
As it turns out, my neighbor will be riding part of the way with me in the morning. He will stay on the pavement since he is on his Harley. Kinda cool.

I am in Emporia and would really like to make this. I spent my High School years just south of Council Grove west of Americus on Kahola creek which drains from Kahola lake. I know the area south of there but never have been able to get up to Council Grove and north yet. I know there are some great roads around Kahola that are so much mud/clay/snot most of the year....they should be good now though... ???
I don't know if Glenn K or Greg Mitchel have made the jump to this board yet, but they both know the area well and are also here in Emporia. I am looking for some old PM's  and phone numbers....

I hope to make it, the weather looks awesome with light winds too, morning will be a bit chilly for my fair weather hide, but....I sure hope to make it. Not been to Council Grove in almost 40 years but I know it should be hard to get lost.

The Kahola area is a ride on my to do list.  Maybe during this year's stampede.

Glenn, would you mind sharing those tracks in our download section? I'd love to see 'em and try a few out.
Wabaunsee county has some great areas.  I know it is a long haul for you Sedgewick guys but maybe we could do a mini stampede.  Paxico has Mill Creek Campground for tents/RVs and cabins to rent.  Paxico also has a blues festival in September that might be fun to work in.

I see that we will be going by boothill rd. I here it can really be challenging road? Have any of you been on it ? Not that I want to do it tomorrow, but someday I want to, maybe walk it first.

Not a technical ride but beautiful.  Now if someone mentions Box Turtle Road....
Attached is a pic from Boothill Rd.

Converter for those of us too not as smart as a phone http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/gpsbabel/ save the file then:
select Routes, select Garmin Mapsource as input type, select google earth for output type, upload file. should spit out a file that google earth can load

Under the box where you add text to a thread, hit "attachments and other options" and one of the options is "notify me of replies".... 😉
