Nearly 80 degrees on 2/11 !?

Surely we can get a few of us to blow out the cobwebs!  I'm looking to do another SE jaunt..  anyone interested in coming along?  I guesstimate around 250 miles, as little pavement as possible, 50mph speed average offroad.  No route planned, just play follow the leader for a bit.

I figure I'd take off from the Derby QT at like 8AM

50mph speed average offroad.

Dude, that is near my top speed offroad, I sure don't average anywhere near that.  Most of the counties around here have 45-50 mph speed limits on gravel roads.  This tortoise can't keep up with you hares.

Haha!  So, I should have clarified.. 50mph MAX average off-road   Depending on conditions and terrain, im anywhere from 35-50, within reason.  The AT makes me be a little more conservative.. the XR just begged for more throttle.

That's a valid concern Roger but as long as you know how you ride, just ask if that's a problem or not, lots of folks like to do leisurely rides! You certainly see more that way!!

Well I don't know if it's "intended" to be but a conscientious ride leader will have no choice but to pace the group accordingly so as not to loose anyone!   

Maybe i shouldn't post average pace next time? Pacing numbers are just a courtesy from the cycling world- so people will know what they're comfortable with

I'm always happy to ride with new guys, we can adjust the pace as needed based on conditions and skill levels- it's more fun to have other riders with ya, than going solo.

40-50 is about the speed range just about all the group rides I've been on over the last year or two have been, so I really didnt think much about it.  All skill levels are welcome with me.

I'll even teach ya how to do a donut! 

Good points Derek!! And just let me say a nicer gentleman you will never ride with than Derek so feel no fear in his lead, great guy and very group conscious, you can count on him to do what's best for whoever he is riding with, period!!

Again, for anyone unsure about tagging among bc of speed concerns- On pavement, I'll always travel at whatever speed the lowest geared guy is OK with holding.. I know some of the lighter dual sports struggle with 65+, so we keep that in mind. Off-road, it's more of a 'what you're comfortable with', and we'll always stop at turns and intersections. No one gets left behind   It's all about having fun as a group.
