covid RIDE 2021
« on: February 14, 2021, 01:49:36 PM »
Going to have another “covid RIDE” this year. Almost the same route, with a few changes. Still going to be a small bike route. Looking at May 8th. Just a one day ride will start at Saddlerock cafe in Counsel Grove. Should be about 140 miles total with a fuel/lunch stop in Strong City.  Anyone is welcome to come, if you want to ride a big bike, please know how to ride in on minimum maintenance roads, as this route will have as many as I can find. As we get closer to the ride date, I’ll post any changes.

The KTM for sure. Haven't gotten to ride it as much as I'd like. The more technical the riding the better I like being on it. I sold the DR350 awhile back.

This was great fun last year – everybody'd been holed up for 3 months and looking for some reason to get out...I think we had 18 riders? And that was with just about everything still locked down in Morris County. Saddlerock opened up and fed us outside- another reason I love riding Council Grove. I called BGs last week and everythign is open now... new brewery has also opened downtown.  Looking forward to it.

The 690 likes minimum maintenance roads. It's a bit early for me to fully commit, but I have this on my calendar. I've been hunkered down for way to long. This sounds like a fun ride.

I am planning on coming up the night before and camping at the lake, if anybody wants to split a camp site.

We had 19 riders and just about the best weather that you could want! About half the group were 'big bikes' (>500cc).

Excellent loop with as much minimum maintenance as could be found, thanks for putting the route together!

No mishaps or injuries just a few normal bike naps, and we were able to welcome a brand new rider to dual sport!
