We definitely will need Ride Leaders if we are to pull off the 2020 Stampede. There is a section in this forum labeled 'Ride Leaders', but only visible to signed-in members.

For anyone who is not familiar with the Cottonwood Falls area and surrounding counties, here's Clay Clark's excellent map page:

Glen, which link is it you are trying to click?  Are you trying to get into the Ride Leaders forum?  If you are going to be a ride leader, I'll add you to that group.
If you are trying to click on the google map link, those permissions are from the creator of the map.

So do we have planned routes for both Friday and Saturday ? Just asking to see if I need to take Friday off work.

That link goes to a section of the board for "Ride Leaders" which isn't generally available. This is to keep the signal-to-noise ratio high in those discussions.

The committed ride leaders DO have routes and will discuss at the rider meeting on Saturday morning at the rendezvous point. My route is already posted. If anyone would like, can provide a Google Earth KML file.

I just learned today that I've lost my weekend reservation @ The Millstream Motel in CF due to a non-covid health issue with one of the owners. So .... I will ride up and back to the event on the Saturday only. My 250 can only carry light gear, and I gave up camping years ago ... ;-)

Since this is not just my event .... volunteer ride leaders can jump in and offer Friday and Sunday options.

Best, Roger

Hi, Nick ... so, if someone has volunteered to lead rides, how do they gain access to this thread? Roger N. took care of Glen when I asked for his inclusion. Would a request to a moderator be the best approach?

Thanks, Roger

« Reply #54 on: June 09, 2020, 06:48:55 PM »
Saturday's rendezvous time will be 9:00 am at the north end of Broadway, at the Falls.

We'll have a short rider safety meeting, then split into patrols after that.

Be sure to have your ride waiver completed. Keep one half on your person and give the other to your ride leader. Make sure it is legible (printed preferred) in case an emergency contact is needed.

http://www.backroadstouring.net/downloads/stampedewaiver_20.pdf

The form can be completed onscreen by downloading and opening in Adobe Reader (free) or comparable PDF reader.

Be fully fueled and ready to go.

Let's ride!

Me and at least one other rider will meet at the rendezvous point Friday at 1:00 to go for an afternoon ride. i have committed to be a group leader but don't have access to the designated routes yet so we might just be winging it which is fine with me, I'm pretty good at finding good roads!

I took Friday off already and I am planning on going for a ride. I don't have a route set up (at least not yet), so just a pickup group of whatever. I'll probably try to find as much MM as I can, since my Saturday route doesn't have much MM.

I'm going to head up to Chase County State Lake after work on Thursday to pitch camp. I'll wait until about 10:30 to head out, so if somebody wants to ride over Friday morning there's time to get there without having to leave at the butt-crack of dawn.

Are we OK to day park a truck or trailer at the high school on Saturday? I plan to truck in that day.
I swear you posted something about this somewhere but I cannot find it.
Thanks

I wrote and mailed a letter to the county sheriff (they don't have e-mail) on May 29, but have yet to receive a reply. I'll give them a call to see if we can park at the high school, and report back here.
