2020 Flint Hills Stampede - Resched. from Jun. 19-21 to Sept. 18-20

I've retired (again), and would like to coordinate next year's Stampede now that I have SO much time available to coordinate an event of this stature. First things first .... would like to get the location pinned down.

We've never had an event of out Cottonwood Falls, and yet there are venues to accommodate us ... such as Camp Wood YMCA, Swope Park, Mill Stream Motel, and Chase County State Lake (primitive). Do a little research ....

Once the votes are in, will visit with the selected city Chamber of Commerce, potential sponsors, etc. Early prep helps pin things down.

Next will come the volunteer side of things .... ride leaders, support crews, etc.

Whaddya think?

I'm glad to hear it! I will be happy to help in any way that I can - sending out to the member list, organization, setup, etc.

Cottonwood Falls sounds good to me. I'd be interested in camping as well, but I'd prefer to see flush toilets and showers at my camp ground :)

Thanks for the early responses! Will let the polling run for a couple of months, then lock down the location based on the popular vote. After that comes the fun part ....

Past Stampedes would have never been as successful as they were without the participation of volunteers who helped plan, coordinate, promote, and lead. We, as a team, have had a knack for putting together memorable events ... and it will be a hoot to do it again!

I voted for Cottonwood Falls, but be aware as far as I can tell from researching on the net RV sites with utilities are slim in that area. For example Swope Park has 5 and Camp Wood YMCA has 3.

I live in the area (White City) and would like to help out any way I can. I've ridden dirt and street all my life (54yrs) and recently purchased a crf250l rally for off-road cruising. I'm currently scouting backroads in the flint hills and can't wait for spring for some weekend trips!

We're looking good! Thanks for all the offers to support. I'll be traveling up to CF to meet with city officials and the Chamber in the months ahead to get more details pinned down. Will also see if there's a church or caterer who can accommodate us for a Sat. night dinner.

There will be no registration fee, but confirmations will be appreciated in order to plan meals.

Have updated the Stampede 2020 waiver, and will post the link info on this thread.

Granted, there's limited camping/lodging locally, but there's always El Dorado State Park and Council Grove Res. ... both 20-25 miles from the rendezvous point should the local areas fill up.

For those who have or have not traveled Chase, Marion, Morris, Greenwood, Lyons, and Waubaunsee  Counties ... you're in for a real treat!

I am up for this. Just one note change....there is no "Lyons" countie...it is Lyon county ;)

Depending on how the next May5 ride plays out I have routes in S Lyon, N Greenwood, Touching on Chase Co.

I have a secondary burial plot for my ashes in this region :)
