I was able to find a link to safari and email info (which I did send response to).

Please know the link returns a page not found error.

I’m in Shawnee KS and interested in joining this weekend. Need to understand if fresh tires will be needed to enjoy adventure, where and when to be (assuming 8 am at Anderson county fairgrounds) and cost of event.

Thanks - Rod

Here is the link. We have tested and it works for us. If it doesn't you can register Friday night or if you get there early enough day of is ok too. https://www.cognitoforms.com/GarnettLionsClub/KansasDualSportSafari2019June2122 if this doesn't work for you please PM me.

Now we have multiple routes. If you are a road route guy, well a "Fresh" tire is a relative definition, and we ask that you are equipped to fix your tire or have a fresh tube. But Obviously we would like to see well equipped machines mostly as a show of respect for the other riders in the group. Nobody wants to be the guy who holds up the ride. (but we know it happens to everybody eventually)

But if you are a trails guy. You will need to have a knobby type tire that is on the "newer" side of 60% if you are gonna make it up our hills. Not saying it can't be done with less (cause I've done it), but the skill level goes way up. We have some rocky hills that are challenging, and we want to make sure everyone stays safe, and doesn't hold up the ride for other riders with substandard equipment. So you know... as the ride leader I am running a DRZ400 with a Kenda Trackmaster up front set to 12psi, and a Pirelli MT21 (brand new) set to 15psi. I have run the trails recently on this set up, and I can rip with this setup. Derek our other trails leader is running a KTM 530 with Trackmasters front and rear, and he makes me look like a grandpa. So with that you can make whatever judgement calls you need to and if not you can always PM me for direct questions.
There is absolutely no excuse for what I am about to do.

Thanks for the link (works) and the background information, as it was very helpful.

I’m interested in trail riding, as I ride to work and spend free time riding / looking for interesting gravel / dirt roads. I’ve just returned last year to dirt riding after three decades, as my son moved to AZ and we’ve been riding trails out there. So know I’m re-discovering things, as I had not touched a carburetor for years... I found this site looking for info about places to ride in Kansas.

I just returned from vacation, so may not be able to replace my back tire (as it’s past the half way mark) in time for Saturday - depending how work week goes.

I will keep you posted and know I’m interested in any trail rides in the future.

Thanks - Rod

Ok guys I will be lurking around town and campsites with Browning Friday Afternoon answering questions and helping to settle people in. If you are here by 3 and would like to join me. We will do a little pickup ride off the books kinda thing. Look for the fat redhead (me) on the Black DRZ with the cyclops headlight. We will go do something you decide we shouldn't do before the registration starts.

Will Letko be bringing bikes this year? I would love to throw a leg over a 350EXC-F!
Road down to Garnett yesterday to check out the camping options. If my work schedule allows I'll be there for my first KS DS ride.
Jack

Confirmed! Letko will be down with bikes. I sent them your message. Don't forget your checkbook! Rumornhas it they will have a couple Zero bikes a 790 and change.

I'm sorry I can't join your ride on Saturday because I'm taking my two grandkids on a hayride.  However, I hope to see and meet you Friday and Saturday at dinner.

All the 790 R's are sold, so I don't know if they'll bring one down; but my 790 R will be lurking :)
