ADV Awareness
« on: October 28, 2018, 08:28:04 PM »
ADV continues to grow, with more new models of bikes, and more new riders than any other segment (http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-hy-adventure-motorcycles-20180914-story.html).

Just the other day I had a plumber working on my drains, and found he had a KLR650 (while discussing how I hurt my knee) in his garage at home, and invited him to join us here. It's a small world :)

While watching the Neewollah Grand Parade Saturday, I spotted a flight of touring bikes (I think the local American Legion Riders) and immediately thought - a flight of adventure bikes in parades with a few signs on the panniers could help raise the profile of ADV in our riding regions (and possibly attract new forum members).

What are your thoughts? Do you think this would this be good publicity? Would YOU be willing to travel to various regional parades to ride?

Hello Nick, I'm in Coffeyville and I'd participate next year in the parade.  I've recently got into this ADV Riding and have been riding parts of the TAT and some on road trips to Eureaka Springs area.  Looking forward to riding this season!  Hope to see you out there!

I would think we'd want something like 6 to 10 bikes to be involved, and there hasn't been any other interest.

Anybody else? I'm thinking afterwords would be a ride :)
