Looking forward to seeing everybody in Council Grove!
Ride Format for the event is a scavenger hunt, something new for us! It should be a nice change of pace.
Marc is organizing the event, but I'm organizing the hunt app. You can download the app ahead of time on the
Play Store or iTunes App Store.
Here's how it works:We'll break in to teams - plan ahead, ride with whoever you want! Teams won't be assigned or picked at the event.
Once unlocked, within the Bound there will be
Stages, which can be completed in any order by your team. The Bound will unlock one week before the event, so you will have time to plan your route; but no early check-ins! Data will be cleared Friday morning, and you can start ticking off items!
Each stage is a location to visit and perform a GPS check-in with the app, and will be worth points. At the moment I have about 20 stages and 33 check-ins configured; and I'm planning to add a few more. I'd like to have around 50 check-in in by event time. If you have a location to suggest that is scenic, historic, challenging, or just plain fun to ride through, please send me a PM with GPS coordinates and a description!
Side Note - There are other challenges as well, such as questions and missions; this time around I won't have any of those - but I'll be gathering information over time so that there will be a few more types of things to do for future scavenger hunt events.
The idea is that they're spread out enough that one team can't get them all - you need to pick your route, pick your points, and your team will go get as many as you can! Keep in mind that some stages are worth more than others!
Results will be locked at supper time, then after supper Marc will award prizes for the teams with the most points!
