I’m going. Hope to be riding the klr250 or dl650. Either way I should be riding up from Wichita , if one else is we can meet to ride up.

Marc- weather permitting, i'm pretty sure i'll be doing this one, too. I'll text ya and we can get something planned up.

I’ll be trailering in from the west ( Hutchinson) . I’ll  probably come through Emporia on the way to Olpe.

Do you want to park/meet me in Emporia?

I would like to start getting a somewhat accurate head count. Also with BTK tradition, and just sensible safety, please be ready to provide some info. Best way is to use the waiver http://backroadstouring.org/downloads/waiver.pdf.
Post it note, biz card etc. with Name, city, contact number and bike ridden.
It would really be easiest to track if you would reply here with the minimum info and where you plan on joining. FB is great but it is a bit tedious to track.

Outlook for weather is, 76 degrees and sunny on Friday, 79 degrees with few clouds for 5 May. Some storms mid week so looks to be maybe tacky, little to no dust and perfect temps.

I am leaving Emporia 8:30. Any needing or wanting parking and meet please let me know ASAP. Kickstands up in Olpe 9:30 am. ETA for Lunch in Americus 1:00 pm. End in Emporia by 4:00pm.

It is looking like we might have a large group so perhaps split off into two? Ride leader/Sweep mid pack and a final sweep rider? Any volunteers?

Really looking forward to this especially as it is my first ride to co-ordinate let alone lead. Originally thought I would get maybe a couple buds to show but really happy to see the response, hope the turnout and ride is just as good.

If parking is needed depending on how many I have a couple options. Send me a PM for more info.
Not much very close for camping. Lyon and  Chase co fishing lakes would be the closest real camping but if just wanting to pitch a tent or camper and park.

Bringin' ol' Bessie...(06 KLR) and a big need to shake off some winter. Weather this week will probably take out a lot of min. maint. but at my age I prefer gravel anyway.  We'll be looking for a good steakhouse in Emporia........................

Few places in town to get steak, really only one Steak house per say, used to be Montana Mike's but changed name and owners I think so can't say. Used to be good. Honestly though the best restaurant steak I have had in the area is Rolling Hills in Americus 7 miles by Hwy. Same place we will be having lunch Saturday. They have KC Strip and Ribeye, there were both excellent. Wagon wheel makes a sirloin that is pretty ok and an awesome smoked baked potato.
If you really want the shizzle though, go across the road and get some fresh cuts at Fanestil. If you got a small grill, if not I could borry ya one.
