5th of May Gateway to Flint Hills

I have been on several rides in this area with many from this group but I have treks that are not on the major roads that all of these rides have been on. Mostly oil field roads ungated and no postings, open range cattle guards only. Nothing extreme but certainly some fun stuff for most any bike. Parts of this include some roads used in the "Dirty Kanza" but before it gets muddy.

We will start in Olpe,9-10 AM head west then south and can make the traditional stop at Teeter Rock, then work our way north along the Lyon/Chase Co. line to Emporia for lunch at the Wagon Wheel. Can head out from there to Kahola lake and back toward Olpe to finish by 3-4 PM.
Anyone hauling parking will be available.

Regardless of where I have been, this date has never let me down for superb weather!

I've got this on my calendar.  Looks like a fun ride on some minimum maint. roads.....just like I like it.   

Hope to get out and make a definite route with alternates in case the streams are too high.
Took my bike to flatland racing for some fab'd sparkles and looks like she is spending the weekend. Weather don't look to good for this weekend anyway.
I can still sneak the KLR outa town if anyone was gonna be in the area.

Two choices for lunch, Wagon Wheel in Emporia, or Rolling Hills in Americus. Both have similar menus. Great food and hospitality. 7 miles difference. Personally I prefer for this event Rolling Hills, smaller town and more our venue.

I would like to let them know about how many and they will be ready for us.

Got a pre run in today to check the route. Inch or two of rain yesterday and there were some snotty spots but nothing a day of sun and temps won't make just right. Most of all NO DUST!

I'll be there. Got some new rubber to check out. This looks perfect.
