The little bikes can surprise you.  Not in power, but it how well they do.  I had an older XR250 and it cruised down the highway just fine.  The 6th gear was an overdrive gear, so when you'd go up an incline you'd have to downshift.

I had to go digging and find a video of the ole' girl.

Not to mention how much more that will leave my budget for Nelle.

If u want to come down and take my klr for the weekend. Let's me know.
I have not rode a kl250.

Marc how about you come up and if I don't have a 250 by then, you can ride my KLR, I ride yours and I will show you some places I bet many here have never seen. Make some treks or whatever you call them since you know how and I am complete waiting on the book "GPS for Dummies" to come out.

Try for 1400 OTD.  No e-start but will kickstart with 1 kick every time if the carb is adjusted right.

I'm working to much overtime. I'll stay home and rest on Sunday. Maybe in a few weeks we I'll see about coming up.

Too bad the 650's aren't getting similar revamps with EFI and suspension upgrades.

I cleaned the air filter and bought a rebuild kit for the fuel valve, but I want to ride it a little before doing the valve. Haven't had a chance to do that yet.

This popped up on Creeps list today... Worth a look. It is priced pretty right.

Looks great Burt but just a lateral move for me and same issues. I am pretty set on a NEW KLX :)
Not sure yet if it will be as docile as Russ's CRF but I can wait a bit then get rid of the pipe and CAT and remap, it aughta do me fine ;)

It will start out as docile. I understand when the aftermarket programmer and pipe is put on it wakes them up quite a bit. But my 15 year old will have to figure that out on his own! But if the truth were to be told based on weight and gearing. I think I could take that docile honda through rougher stuff than any other bike i own.
I logged on to post a link I just found for a bike here in Garnett for sale. Seeing your post I am sure you are not but it looks like a good deal. Having seen the bike it is REALLY nice looking and been well cared for. Here it is in case anyone else wants to look since I already copied the link.
