First Annual Poker Run @ Bogies Adventures! -- October 15th!

First annual Fall Poker Run @ Bogies Adventures!!


WHAT IS A POKER RUN?
- A poker run is NOT a race, and speed or skill level has nothing to do with you chances of winning. It is an organized trail ride, through a closed course, with everyone riding the same direction. With every lap you complete, you'll receive a playing card. You can do as many laps as you'd like, but you can only earn a maximum of five cards. At the end of the poker run [1PMish], we'll compare hands and determine the winners!

WHEN: Sunday, October 15th, 2017. 

• Gates open at 8AM.
• Riders meeting at 10:30AM.
• Poker run starts at 11AM, and runs for approximately 2 hours.
• Awards given to best poker hands - ~1:30PM
• Open free riding on the course for anyone interested after awards have been given out.

COST: $15

All size bikes and skill levels are welcome!  Loop will consist of about 5 miles of trails encompassing the compound. Terrain ranges from grassy meadows, to rocky stream crossings under a foot deep. Difficulty is rated at medium, with bypasses on anything 'sporty'.

Seems like a short loop. Does it stay interesting going 'round and 'round? Like there's enough variation and so forth?

Oh yeah, trust me, you'll enjoy the loop a lot. I'm going to take the 990 down in a week or two and get some video of the course. It's laid out to be big bike friendly- a great opportunity to work on those skills

That's correct- we had to adjust it a week earlier due to a conflict with the Forward Motion HS Series having a race on the 22nd. I'm gonna update the thread and calendar entry today to reflect it.

Hey guys- BUMP!  Updated the initial post with correct info, dates, location, etc. I was just out there last weekend and Carl has really put in a lot of fun and cool stuff. you dont want to miss this!  You'll see a lot of stuff you'll never run across on a backroad, at Bogies!

I got my new rear bearings and cush drive in so if I manage to get that done this weekend I might be able to haul down....ole smokie ya know

I just realized I'll be working that weekend unfortunately, I had to trade out a weekend with a co worker so I could go see Kansas the next week at Hartman Arena!! 2nd row seat for the 40th anniversary Leftoverture show!!!

Derek did you manage to get any video?
Rain forecast all week but long range for next week looks dry so I would imagine would be good conditions.

Hey Asis-  Yeah i've got the video- just gotta upload it!  Going to work on that today! Bogies has a weird weather force field around it.. it can be pouring nearby and they just get a sprinkle. I'll be there t his weekend helping to put up ribbon and such, i'll give another update afterwards

This looks like it'll be a hoot!! However, I'll be headed to Arkansas for a week. We will be taking the KTM and the DRZ with us this year so we should have a few days of good dual sport riding. We'll be in the Mena area.
