Want to Buy - Youth and Adult Dirt Bikes
« on: April 01, 2017, 02:24:48 PM »
Hello Everyone,

I am looking for dirt bikes for my son and I.  Something like a PW80 or 50 and a TT-R125.  Doesn't have to be a Yamaha but something from a major brand where parts are available.  Looking to spend about $300-$700 on each (edit..$1500-$2,000 for adult bike).  They can require some work to get them in safe running condition.

Hesitant to buy off Craigslist so checking here to see if anyone would have one or knows where one is looking for a new home.

Thanks!
-Brandon

That's a pretty cool bike!  While looking at this one, checked CL again an a 2016 SSR was posted for $500 and picked it up.  It's okay for a kid to learn on since he won't be racing to doing too much crazy (hopefully).  Time to find myself one.

SSR makes a good engine.  The rest of the body won't be as good as say a Honda.  But if you break parts you can buy what you need off ebay.  Check for things loosening/vibrating after your first few rides.

So far the SSR 70 has been pretty decent and good for him to learn on.  You are completely right, I had to tighten several bolts including the handlebars ...seems that will be an ongoing task.

Well, not coming up with much on a bike for me..thinking the budget is going to $1,500-$2,000.
