Just curious, thought I'd toss this out for discussion!

How do YOU like to sleep when you're out on a ride?

Personally I like a fairly equipped tent camp at a nice park with flush toilets. Showers are nice too.

I stay in motels.  Any room is not always fine and I don't need 5 stars so something in-between is needed.

Nicer camp grounds, but anything will do in a pinch. Except cootie looking motels.

I feel this is 100% dependent upon weather! If it is a nice Sept/Oct day/night like 50 low 80 high. Man I will take a tent every time. But anything outside that range I am finding a room somewhere. Nothing worse than a tent at 90+ or 30!
There is absolutely no excuse for what I am about to do.

I have camped in my 3 season tent with my heavy bag down to 25f and was comfy, but I also prefer cold to hot.

I have to agree that a tent at 90f can be pretty stuffy! I carry a battery powered fan for that, though.

I like camping and I can deal with a variety of temperatures. But I really want a decent shower and a meal on a regular interval.  I think my ideal trip would be to hit a motel every 2nd or 3rd night to get cleaned up and kind of re-boot for the next leg of the journey.

I keep thinking I'll enjoy tent camping, but I rarely do enjoy it.  The main features desired are shower and climate control.  I prefer a motel that allows me to keep my bike close by for easy packing, and to keep kids off of it late at night.

I have a goal of doing a multi day camping trip off of the bike so I can gain the skill, and prove to myself I can do it, but I'm not sure I'll enjoy it.  I'll have to man-up.
