Planning on attending. Haven’t ridden on much sand so it should be a learning adventure for me.

I noticed earlier that it was mentioned that the route will mainly be focused towards offroad. Is a tag still required?
I asked because I have a few riding buddies that wanna go on group ride, but aren't tagged like myself.

Oct 12-13
Medicine Lodge, Kansas.
Gypsum Hill dual sport ride
There is a small bike and big bike route.  The big bike route has as little sand as is possible for the area, like how I said that !! Small bike ride will start on private land, then go on to a ride around the Gypsum Hills, finding as much sand as I could find. Bikes in the private land must be under 500cc and named a dual sport bike, this is from the land owner, not me.
Camping for rv’s is at Rox landing in the east side of town, $25 per night water/50amp some spots have sewer, 11 spots total.  Tent camping is at the city lake at the north end of Medicine Lodge. There are 2 hotels in town on Hwy 160, there site says $55 per night. There is also lodging in Sun City about 20 miles northwest. I’m trying to find out if they will let tent camping at city park on the east side of town.
Meeting place for the ride on Saturday morning will be at the Cassy’s gas station on the west side of town.   Big bike bike route is 180 miles, small bike route is 100 miles with gas at the land owners property.  I’ll have 2 5 gallon cans there of gas.  I was thinking of the small bike group meeting at the Cassy’s then riding out to the land owners land to ride, then fill up for those that need it and then we could have bigger bikes come with us on the rest of the route, we will see how it pans out.

Thanks for putting all of this together Marc. I am looking forward to discovering what "low sand" means out here :)

I'll be leading the big bike ride, but going off if a provided track I have not rode, so it will be an adventure!

Looking at the weather forecast, there is still rain coming to the area. If that is the case, than your route will be fine. I can send u the route so u can either pre-ride it or just look at it.

Can you or Mark post the big bike track?

I am planning on being there.  Probably drive the RV out Friday.  I have made a call to Rox Landing and left a message.

I just received a call back from Jed at the Rox Landing camp ground and he said some time ago someone had called and inquired about reserving the entire campground for the ride weekend.  He would like to have that person give him a call if that is still a possibility or not.  Since I have not seen anything to that effect on the board I would like to go ahead and reserve my own spot.  I will be contacting Jed again so I can pass a message on.  The number is 620-886-9817.

I had so much fun chasing Nick around the flint hills last month! Looking forward to doing it around the gypsum hills!
I’ll be coming out Saturday morning.
Is there a good place to leave the truck/trailer?

We meet at the Casey’s gas station at 9:00am u can park there also large parking area. Just PLEASE leave room for semi’s to come there and turn around if they need to. I have talked to rox landing. Didn’t really reserve the place but sounds like Jed thinking I did. I only told him I had people coming. Didn’t know how many so couldn’t answer that for him. There are 11 spots at his place first come first serve. Water/electric50amp.

I don't know if anybody else is going to brave 30f to camp, but I'll be on the WEST side of the lake near the restroom.
