I think you'll enjoy the KLX ... have held on to mine over ten years now ....

Big improvement with the suspension compared to the KLR. Once the engine is broken-in, it takes a while to get used to the fewer foot/pounds of torque ... but the engine has a sweet spot that allows the KLX to be really playful.

The camo styling is a hoot to look at, too! Congrats ... R 8) ger

Thanks all for the gratz. Sure do like it so far even though it truly is "New Rider Friendly" and as tame as a Unicorn  :P

The break in according to the manual:
1000 miles, first 500 miles not to exceed 4000 RPM. 500-1000 miles not to exceed 6000 RPM.

Hmmmm well 4k RPM in 6th is around 40 MPH, 6k will get you about 55 MPH.

Fought the elements for an hour or so today around town and to an abandoned park with some dry creek beds and such and sure do like the suspension and nimbleness...so much like my KDX 200 in that regard. Guessing the sweet spot starts above 6k since I missed a shift coming off a nice berm ;) and got a nice lil launch. She ain't worried about landing either.

Damn was it cold though, gonna be tough to getr broke in by spring...but will be fun trying.  ;D

Roger, my friend, your garage disgusts me. There is no excuse to have a garage that clean and organized! My goodness. You can eat off of that floor and even your tools are hung up and organized. That is just sickening. I will send you my youngest son. (Who likes to experiment!!!! he is 12 and has his own welder and soldering iron) He will fix your tools and your garage up just like mine! We like to refer to it as "Lived in".
There is absolutely no excuse for what I am about to do.
