Dirt Bike Riders

Thank you!  It didn't look this good when I bought it.  For some reason I like RM125's.  I've always wanted one, no matter what year.  My plan was to fix it up, clean it up, then throw it in the corner of the garage and get it out and ride it every couple months.   Then just keep it around for my son to grow into.  But it's so fun I've been riding it as much as or more than my Husqvarna.   

They are super fun! I had an 05 [i think] and did the same thing with it. Little sucker handled like a razor! Lots of fun, but not quite enough oomph for local MX tracks, and stupid me ended up selling it because of that.  I've added that to the list of bikes I never should have let go.

That's School Creek, right? I've heard of it, but haven't been there. It looks like it'd be fun to play in with a DS not just a dirt bike

Yes.  If you're a good rider and you know you're way around there you could have fun.  But you could get in way over your head as well.  As you can see the trails can be deeply rutted.  So if you're in that trail, head down a hill and all of sudden it gets a lot more technical, you would have to commit to making it through that trail as there would be no way to turn around.

Are you saying that a "Real Dirt bike" might be required.

Yes a KLX would do fine there.  I've ridden my KLX300 and DRZ400 there a few times.  A big ADV bike could find it's way around there as well, but not by me.   

I think we can all agree I take my KLR places you wouldn't think a KLR could (or maybe should) go.....

Four decades ago, would take my 1970 Yamaha AT-1B to extreme riding areas, strip the bike of non-essentials ( ie., headlight & silencer plug), and ride technical trails in Shawnee and Sedgwick Counties (student rider, in the process of learning riding skills).

Nothing beats this way of learning how to ride your bike, and what the two of you are capable of .....

It made riding a KLR650 for 40k miles all the more enjoyable.

Yep that was me on the "old" KDX...first year for the mono shock.
