Group App

Since there's not really a good way to get push notifications from the forum, I was thinking about trying to find a (free) app that could be used for coordination during the day.

Stuff like "Where are you guys at on the route?" or "We're going to dinner, meet us at the restaurant"

Thoughts? comments?

Can't we just use Facebook?  The group has a facebook page, everyone on the ride should be on our facebook page just messenger all members?
There is absolutely no excuse for what I am about to do.

We used the free Life360 app on the CMA ride last weekend.  Only 2 of us tried it, but it did show where 1 part of the group was when the other part of the group was having a delay.  It works on Android and iPhone.  It seems reasonable that each riding group could have it's own circle, and could see each others location and see each others "check in" comments.  Cell coverage is necessary, and we had cell coverage most of the time I looked at my phone (Verizon, iPhone 7) during the ride.
That's just 1 option!  Jeff

I know it's hard to believe, but some people don't use Facebook ;)

That looks interesting, but it's voice. I was thinking text/IM style. It's hard to answer a call if you don't have in-helmet phone access, which is probably half or more of our regulars.
