Saturday 2/18 Great weather!

Looks like some good riding weather this weekend.  If things work out, I plan to do some riding in the Flint Hills.  Any one else have plans?

I should be up for that! I was just checking the weather too!  I even think this is a weekend the legendary Dave Woodward has free, as well!

Yes I'm off this weekend but after 12-12hr days I'm trying to figure out how to catch up on all the shit I've neglected for two weeks (not to mention all the sleep I've lost)! I'm playing it by ear, I really need to do some garage rearranging and start working on the 900F project for real!

Keeping my options open, what's anyone got planned?

I hear ya.  Now that I'm nearing retirement, I'm finally getting to the point weekends are mostly mine.  No yard work this year will be a huge break.
I have no real plans, I'm going to scout some routes to the boonies.  I have never ridden in a city before and I'm going to break into it gradually.

Hey Roger- got a route or general direction idea in mind? I'm more than likely gonna come.. love playing in the flint hills, and theres still a lot there i havent seen yet.

I have not put a route together.  Is there a particular area or areas you would like to try?

Hey Roger, I have a route, I can give it to you or I can lead us around. It will take us to the hot spots and a few other places. I think you are from up north of Wichita ? If so I can start the route here and end it by either cottonwood falls or council grove area. It's up to you.

I'm actually in Topeka.  We are a long way apart by my standards.     By the time I got to Council Grove, it would be time for me to head back.  I will need to work up to riding those distances.

Not a problem, where do you plan on riding? There might two more coming w/ you.

I really didn't have plan.   You've really got me thinking about meeting in Council Grove and maybe northward from there?  Have you been through Hessdale, Neyring Ranch, or Boothill Roads?  They are very scenic.

True dat.  There are a few riders here in Topeka I'm trying to hook up with and there is Savage over in Manhattan I've been wanting to meet.
I'm not really set up for longer rides/highway.  Right now my bike is geared pretty low since I've been riding nearly all off pavement.  I think I'll change it back to stock gearing Sunday. 

If you have room for one more I'd be up for meeting in Council Grove, Manhattan or farther south.  Anything Flint Hills sounds fun.  May not be able to keep up with the lighter bikes but will hang in the back and keep up as I can.   

I do believe that on the last stampede ride I was up around alma. So I might have been on the roads you are talking about.
If that is where you want to ride I can see about coming up there. A bit far, but I'll be on my V-Strom, a friend will be on a f800gsa. If the off road ride isn't to long, we should be able to make it.

My brain is writing checks my body will have a hard time cashing.  Kryptos, would you like to meet up in/around Topeka and take Hiway 4 /177 to Council Grove?  We could meet Derek, Marc, and Pilot? in CG and go from there.  How does that sound?
