Leavenworth Area

Hopefully many of you were able to get out today.  In KC there was a cold front that bordered I-70 and when coming from the south and entering the KS Speedway area, it dropped about 8 degrees very quickly.  Still was such a nice ~50 degrees in the morning.

Sure some of these areas are familiar with some here.  Basically took I-435 to highway 5/Wolcott into Leavenworth, then on the west side of the Penitentiary, headed north on Santa Fe Road then over to 167th.  Went down through a few side roads and tried to stay close to the river are and found some minimum maintenance or wildlife area roads to ride back towards the river.  Headed up through Oak Mills Drive / River Road which was very cool.  There are several roads to be explored in off there but didn't have time.

Should have got one photo without the bike.

(thumbsup)  - apparently north of Atchison are several backroads up to White Cloud as well.  Would be a good trip one of these days if you are up for it.

Would like to explore more of the Missouri side in the river valley.  Tried 210 HW a few weekends ago and didn't find too much.
