I also am hoping to do this ride.  Think I will be taking the Goldwing instead of the KLR though.   Should be a fun ride!!

FYI, I finished this ride on Wed.  After the Smackdab another rider and myself went over through the Black Hills, Iron Mt. Road, Needles Hywy, etc.  Had a great trip of 2325 miles.  New rear tire is "in the mail" haha.

Did anyone else do the Smackdab Run?  If so, what's your trip tale?
