Blue Mound Ride 4/10/2017
« on: June 10, 2017, 08:36:49 PM »
Had 5 bikes today, Gary Russell (KLR), Tom Rogers (KLR), William Brentlinger (KLR), Harold Rogers  (XR650R) and Eddie McLiney (WR250). Breakfast in Blue Mound and lots of chat with the locals.  Kick stands up at 9 and we headed northeast following Gary Russell.  Blacktop to Mound City and then gravel looping around the lakes at La Cygne.  Gary had to hay and left the group for home.  From La Cygne, the group road north and then east.  Once we hit the Missouri line we zig zagged south to Fulton for fuel and a snack.  After a break the group headed south for Guthrie mound, river crossings and minimum maintenance roads back north towards Xenia and Blue Mound.  Will_kc found a hole crossing a washed trail that required stacking stones so his KLR could get it's nose up.  No flats, no breakdowns, lots of eastern Kansas roads and early summer dust.  Another Good day in the saddle!
07 KLR 30K and it's still going strong.

Ok so I am mad I have not found this site before now. You guys are riding my old stomping grounds. How is it I am generation 6 in Linn County and don't know any of you guys. That is not right! Would like to meet up and share rides in the county, I am in Garnett these days. But need to meet you guys. All my rowdy friends have settled down. Need more/new ones.  ;D
There is absolutely no excuse for what I am about to do.

Rogers family came to Linn County (Blue Mound area but Blue Mound did not exist) in 1881 but I moved to Fort Scott in 1969, I know more people in the cemetery that who lives there now.
