Following up a request to post some pictures of adventures in South America.
10 days, 4300 km. Started in Osorno, Chile Rode to Ushuaia, Argentina in Tierra del Fuego. Temperatures ranged from about 80F in the northern regions, to near freezing in the southern region. 40's and 50's was a pretty good catch-all. Rain in northern Patagonia where there were literally hundreds of water falls and winds in Argentina that were relentless and made Kansas seem calm. Crossing Argentina seemed like crossing west Texas except without all the people. There weren't too many people and at times we sweated getting to the next gas station. The ride was especially trying on gravel rounds with a stiff 30-40 mph cross wind. While our goal was to get to the end of the earth and we made it, if I had it to do over again I would spend much more time in the lakes region of northern Patagonia in Chile and ride the Carratera Austral to the end in O'Higgins. Also had to bypass Torres del Paine, but the winds there were even stronger and I'm sure the Horns were fogged as are a lot of the mountains in that area. The pictures are too big to post, so I'm going to attempt to place some in a pdf file and attach it here:
