Clutch Opinions

So my 2nd DR that I bought for wife. When I bought it the clutch was roasted. I think from improper oil being used. But abuse probably played a role. Either way. I need a new clutch. Looking for suggestions that are not the OEM. I have heard that OEM is the best way to go on a clutch, but wanted to see what opinions were out there. I already poked around on DRRiders and surprisingly there is not much information on there about clutch opinions... I am leaning towards the Barnett Clutch... Any opinions on aftermarket clutch?

I've used TUSK heavy duty clutches in my race bike for the last year or so, with no issues at all. I paid about $60 for new steels, frictions, and springs. Install was easy and it has plenty of bite. I got mine from rockymountainatv.com .. i'll definitely buy another TUSK clutch if/when i wear this one out.

I guess I should have waited. Nobody responded so I ordered the Barnett from Procycle. Supposed to arrive tomorrow. Thanks for the input. I will remember that for next time.

Sorry, I saw post but really other than Barnett I've never had any other experience..

took about 25 minutes, to install. Soaked the pads in oil overnight, slapped it in and wheel standin we go. Barnett seems good.

Yep, thats the trick- soaking them in trans oil for a few hours at least.  Glad it all went smoothly for ya!!

I don't have an opinion yet but I will be installing an EBC clutch in the DR650 this week.  The old clutch isn't completely gone but it was almost out of adjustment travel after the CG Roundup,  I got the EBC from Procycle and we'll see how it works.  The original clutch made it to 18k miles.

Well I bought the EBC and the HD springs. Clutch is great after riding it for several months. But I would not buy the stiff springs again. Feels like we need a cheater pipe on the clutch lever.

I used the springs that came with the EBC kit and they feel pretty much like stock.  Sure don't need them any firmer.  The new clutch is great.
