Jared and Lori Kraus from Wichita, KS. Background in street, motocross, single-track and trials riding. Have taken ourselves off the street because of too many close calls and being hit twice. Did pick up a 2011 bmw f800gs and would like to see the backroads of Kansas and around the country.

Gary, Welcome.

Over the years I have ridden in Texas quite a few time.  Last year did a 5 day dual sport look through the Hill County and a couple friends.  I have also ridden the BB area a couple times.  Texas is a great place to ride while it is still winter in Kansas City.

In 2023 I'm considering riding the El Camino Real de los Tejas with some friends from Minnesota in late March or early April.  I have been working on the route these past few weeks.

Introduce Yourself / Hi From Texas

Just found this forum, my wife and I both love dual sport riding, have ridden the TAT once, the CDR 3 times and many of the BDR routes. I ride a 2020 CRF450L and she rides a 2020 CRF250L (Road registered), we regularly attend DS rallies (Pigs in the forest, GOAT, ET450, etc) and love the idea of the Flint Hills Adventure Route. Hoping by joining this group I can get access to a GPX file to see the route and hopefully meet some of you at any of the organized rides. My wife is French, I am English and we have lived in the USA 20 years (we are old farts, but still love motorcycling!!), we have 2 daughters (22 & 24). the youngest also loves riding DS and has ridden the CDR twice with us and many of the BDRs!!

Just wanted to say hi you'all (however that Texas verb is spelt!!) :)

I am thinking of a loop including Castle Rock, Chalk Pyramids', and Monument Rock. My question is, how many miles of this is dirt?

It looks like about 40. From near Utica north to Castle Rock, then west to Chalk Pyramids and Monument Rock, then back to Hwy 83.

So, how many miles of dirt and is there anything else I should stop at on that loop figuring Garden City as a Start/Stop point?
